Scientific evaluation of the geological and geophysical results of the well "Mürztal Thermal 1" for publication in a technical journal.
Activities:
Documentation and scientific evaluation of the results of the deep well Mürztal Thermal 1:
- Documentation and evaluation of drilling observations
- Processing and evaluation of cuttings in the Neogene and statements on the historical development of the Miocene basin
- Processing of cuttings and preparation of thin sections in units of the bedrock with regard to a geological tectonic mapping
- Generating of a geological stratigraphic profile of the borehole
- Revision and evaluation of geophysical borehole loggings
Incorporating the results into a regional geological model (with regard to the sinking of a security drilling Mürztal Thermal 2):
- Reprocessing and reinterpretation of the reflection seismic profile
- Performing check-shot surveys in order to improve the seismic velocity model
- Structural geological special mapping in order to investigate the rocks and faulted zones found during the drilling in above-ground exposures
- Updating of the regional geological and tectonic model concepts
Evaluation of the hydrochemical and isotope hydrochemical investigations (as a basis for an extended and diversified material use of thermal water):
- Evaluation of the hydraulic and hydrochemical inevstigations and isotopic measurements of waters and gases, notably in the context of the above-ground occurrence of deep groundwaters and carbon dioxide surrounding the are of the borehole
- Statements on the regeneration conditions of the developed resources
- Geochemical model calculations to clarify rock reactions and the origin of the waters
- Statements on the material composition of the developed resources with regard to diversified use
